You are a Round.

Round has been the top pick for 100 years. There is a good reason. It is cut to catch the most light. No other shape sparkles like it. Your answers say you want a ring that always looks right. Round does that.

It takes 20 minutes. No pressure.

Step 1 is done!

But you are not done yet. The stone is only half of it. The setting is what makes it a ring. That part is hard to see on a screen. That is where we help.

Settings that work with it

  • Simple four-prong band — Nothing gets in the way of the stone.
  • Hidden halo — Tiny diamonds sit under the stone. You cannot see them from the top. They make it look bigger.
  • Three stones — Two small stones sit on each side.

Also try: Elongated Cushion, if you want softer edges. Oval, if you want a longer look.

You are an Oval.

An oval makes your finger look longer. A round stone cannot do that. It still sparkles almost as much. That is why so many people ask for it now.

It takes 20 minutes. No pressure.

Step 1 is done!

But you are not done yet. The stone is only half of it. The setting is what makes it a ring. That part is hard to see on a screen. That is where we help.

Settings that work with it

  • Hidden halo — It lifts the stone and makes it look even longer.
  • Thin band — The band gets thinner near the stone. That helps the oval look long.
  • East-west — Turn the stone sideways. It looks new and it stacks well.

Also try: Elongated Cushion, for the same look with softer edges. Pear, if you want more drama.

You are an Elongated Cushion.

Take a soft, pillow shape and stretch it. That is this one. It makes your finger look long. But the edges stay round and soft. Nothing about it is sharp.

It takes 20 minutes. No pressure.

Step 1 is done!

But you are not done yet. The stone is only half of it. The setting is what makes it a ring. That part is hard to see on a screen. That is where we help.

Settings that work with it

  • Hidden halo — It lifts the stone. The soft corners give it a place to sit.
  • Split band — The band opens around the stone and frames it.
  • Low bezel — Metal wraps the whole stone. Nothing catches on it.

Also try: Oval, for the same length with more sparkle. Radiant, if you want cleaner lines.

You are an Emerald.

This shape is calm and clean. It does not sparkle in tiny bits. It flashes in long, clear lines. It is simple and sure of itself. Your answers point right here.

It takes 20 minutes. No pressure.

  • East-west — Turn it sideways for a whole new look.

You are a Pear.

A pear has a point at one end. It is a bold pick. Your answers came back bold too. Worn point up, it makes your finger look long.

It takes 20 minutes. No pressure.

Step 1 is done!

But you are not done yet. The stone is only half of it. The setting is what makes it a ring. That part is hard to see on a screen. That is where we help.

Settings that work with it

  • Hidden halo with a V-tip — The V covers the point and keeps it safe.
  • Arched band — The band lifts the stone up higher.
  • Curved band — A band cut to fit around the point.

Also try: Oval, for the same long look with no point. Marquise, if you like the drama.

You are a Radiant.

A radiant mixes two things. It has clean, straight sides. But it sparkles like a round. You wanted both. This shape gives you both.

It takes 20 minutes. No pressure.

How to pick a shape

There is no one right shape. But a few things do help. Here is what we look at when someone sits down with us.

Your finger shape matters

Long shapes make a finger look longer. Think oval, pear, and marquise. Round and square shapes look wider on the hand. Neither one is better. It comes down to what you want your hand to look like.

Spread beats carat

Carat is weight, not size. Two stones can weigh the same and look very different. Some cuts spread out wide and look big. Others hide their weight underneath where you cannot see it. Ask to see the spread, not just the number on the tag.

Sparkle comes in types

Some stones flash in big bursts. Round does this best. Some scatter light into soft little bits. People call that crushed ice. Step cuts like emerald do neither one. They give long, clear flashes instead. Pick the kind you like to look at.

Points can chip

Pear, marquise, and princess all have points. A point is the part that breaks. A good setting covers it with a small metal tip. If you work with your hands all day, ask us about this first.

See it on your own hand

A shape looks one way in a photo. It looks different on a real finger. Screens flatten things out, and every hand is different. Trying it on takes ten minutes and it settles the question for good.

Questions people ask

Does my finger shape really change which diamond to pick?

It changes how the ring looks, yes. Long shapes make a finger look longer. Wide shapes fill more of it. There is no wrong pick. It is about what you want to see on your hand.

What is the most popular diamond shape?

Round is still the top pick. Oval is close behind and has grown fast in the last few years. But the best shape is the one you like on your own hand.

Can I try shapes on before I buy?

Yes. Come in and we will pull the shapes you want to see. You can wear them and compare them side by side. It costs nothing and there is no pressure.

Do you make custom settings?

Yes. Custom work is most of what we do. You pick the stone and we build the ring around it. The work is done right here in the store.

How much should I spend?

There is no rule. The old advice about months of pay came from ads, not from jewelers. Pick a number you feel good about. We will show you the best stone at that number.

How long does a custom ring take?

Most take about 4 to 6 weeks. Tell us your date and we will work backward from it. Rush work is sometimes possible, so ask.
